Sicksense return with a fresh sonic direction in the forthcoming EP, Funerals. Reinvigorated and reinvented, the new release unveils an evolution in the band’s sound as they move away from traditional nu metal to nu-metalcore dynamic with hints of melodic prog and djent. Bringing a hard-hitting sound that is unapologetic in its intensity, Sicksense are one of the most exciting emerging acts in modern heavy music. Funerals will arrive independently on September 25.
A stylistic fusion awaits in the explosive “Artificial Irrelevance” (watch video below). This powerful opener is the heaviest offering on the EP track list and establishes a dark atmosphere with sadness, frustration and melancholy. Ferocious rhythms collide with intricate riffs, rap passages and soaring melodies. “Artificial Irrelevance” provides an unapologetic commentary on the virtual world we spend so much time immersed in often to our own detriment, questioning the morals and motives of both its creators and its users.
