The record opens with the sprawling “The River,” a seven-minute invocation that sets a tone of elemental urgency. “Voracious Bloom” and “Vortex Hammer” deliver whipping, chromatic riffs with a primal rhythmic drive—think urgent early influences filtered through a more atmospheric lens—while the short instrumentals “Cosmic Forge” and “Gate to Pathless Lands” provide breathing space and cosmic texture. “Feral Gnosis” stands out for its feral intensity, and the closing “Stormblood” surges with the violence of a summer storm, crashing waves, and a sense of mortal confrontation with the infinite.
Lyrically and thematically, Cosmolith is anthemic in its awe: rivers of stars, gates to pathless lands, forgotten gods, and the blood-rush of primal revelation.
