In this offering, we are very pleased to get up close and personal with TJ Fairfax, drummer in the Sheffield based band Gozer.

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

Most likly my Dozer record Call it Conspiracy, I saw them back in 2004/2005 I must have been 15/16yrs old, I remember just really enjoying them so I got the record still enjoy it even now.

The record that made me want to make music was…

There have been so many! A big influence early on would be the first time I heard Remission by Mastodon. It blew my mind, I’d only been playing drums maybe a year and I didn’t even know drums could sound like that. Shortly after I went a bit fill crazy in my playing it will have sounded terrible but I loved it, haha.

The record I’ve played more than any other is…

That’s a tough one. It has to be between Mastodon’s Remission & Leviathan, they’re records I can always go back to and never get bored no matter how many times I listen.

The record that always makes me feel good is…

My Bart Simpson single. I’ve had it since I was real young, and just looking at it makes me smile.

The record I turn to when I’m feeling down is…

I don’t tend to listen to a lot of music when I’m feeling really down, but if I do it’s usually something uplifting or fun.

The record with my favorite cover art is…

At the moment, I’m really digging the art work on the Toundra’s II, it’s got a bit of a Alfons Mucha vibe.

The strangest LP I own is…

Well it depends what you’d call strange, I guess when you look at my all be it small collection, Chas & Dave’s Greatest Hits probably stands out the most.

The rarest LP I own is…

For my collection, it’s A-sun Amissa’s Ceremony in Stillness. Rich asked me play drums on that record and I’ve a hand screened tour edition that I’m very proud to own & have been a part of even in the small capacity I was involved.

The last LP I bought was…

It was Groundswells by Wren. They played the last gig I went to that I wasn’t playing before the disaster of a year that was 2020. They are such a great band with great songs & the album sounds great. I’ve had it on multiple times.
