Tim Kenefic (Death on Fire)

Death on Fire

In this offering, we are very pleased to get up close and personal with Death on Fire front man Tim Kenefic.

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

Probably Oasis: What’s The Story Morning Glory. I was dating a girl at the time and was choosing between that and a new Ozzy album and wanted to impress her so…

The record that made me want to make music was…

I have wanted to play music ever since I can remember but the album that first inspired me to start writing music was probably “…And Justice For All.”

The record I’ve played more than any other is…

This is tough. I listened to Master of Puppets a ton, Morbid Angel’s Domination and Carcass’ Heartwork were two more that I wore out. Maybe Dream Theater’s Awake. I have several go to albums.

The record that always makes me feel good is…

Type O Negative: World Coming Down. I love that album and the songwriting is top-notch.

The record I turn to when I’m feeling down is…

Probably the Same, World Coming Down. It is my inner goth kid that seeks it out.

The record with my favorite cover art is…

Death: Symbolic. Death has always had cool art since Human came out, and I like this one because it hits everything the album is about and keeps the eye engaged the whole time.

The strangest LP I own is…

Musically, probably a Zappa album: Joe’s Garage is great, and I turn to it at least once a year. He nails the band’s journey from start to finish and does it with a keen sense of humor.

The rarest LP I own is…

Atomic Roosters first album.

The last LP I bought was…

A really cool black metal band called ION from the Bay Area in California. We opened for them in Chicago a few years back, and they were so good we picked up some albums.
