This time around we feature the collection of Billy Meyers III, guitarist and vocalist in the Orlando based band The Glorious Rebellion.
The first record I ever bought with my own money was…
The first vinyl record I ever bought with my own money was a Muppets album. It’s still one of my favorite albums of all time. It has Gonzo eating a rubber tire to the tune of “Flight of the Bumblebee” on it.
The record that made me want to make music was…
Jimi Hendrix – Electric Ladyland. It’s got so much going on, and it made me want to grab a guitar.
The record I’ve played more than any other is…
Tom Waits – Heartattack & Vine. It’s not my favorite Tom Waits record but it has my favorite Tom Waits songs on it, like “On the Nickel.”
The record that always make me feel good is…
The previously mentioned Muppets album. It’s so good.
The record I turn to when I’m feeling down is…
Queens of the Stone Age – ..Like Clockwork. It came out during a sad time in my life, and it really hit me hard. It still hits me hard.
The record with my favorite cover art is…
Oh, man…..I don’t think I can answer this. I love album art. The old Frazetta covers were always badass, but album artwork is an important thing to me so I don’t know that I could give an actual favorite.
The strangest LP I own is…
I own a lot of obscure Italian western film score LPs. Does that count?
The rarest LP I own is…
I don’t think I have anything too rare. Maybe some weird test pressings of friend bands or something like that?
The last LP I bought was…
Ken Mode – Loved
