In this offering, we are elated to get up close and personal with Adam Lukas, lead vocalist/guitarist in the Chicago based band Pink Frost.

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

Took some of my well-deserved Christmas cash to the mall and picked up a copy Van Halen’s 1984. The smoking angel on the cover and the “Hot for Teacher” video changed my life indefinitely.

The record that made me want to make music was…

Way before I could buy records on my own, but it was probably my dad blasting Humble Pie’s “Rockin’ the Fillmore” or “Electric Ladyland” or something. He was always playing music on the turntable. It was just part of life growing up.

The record I’ve played more than any other is…

Disintegration by The Cure. The best record ever made.

The record that always make me feel good is…

Black Sabbath Vol. 4. Sometimes when you’re feeling down, you just need some sick riffs and the Prince of Darkness singing love songs to cocaine. Always does the trick.

The record I turn to when I’m feeling down is…

Jefferson Airplane’s Surrealistic Pillow. There’s something about the lost psychedelic nostalgia that just oozes out of this album. You can hear the moment in time of an unintended perfection. “Today” is a beautiful song, and always makes cry.

The record with my favorite cover art is…

Maybe Nothing’s Shocking by Jane’s Addiction. The flaming heads of the conjoined nudes on the rocking chair seemed pretty outrageous to my adolescent mind. Like pretty much the opposite of having no shock value. It would make your head snap at the record store. They became an important and influential band to me, and it was crazy to play a couple shows with them at the Metro in Chicago.

The strangest LP I own is…

Probably this Jimi Hendrix bootleg on red vinyl called High, Live N’ Dirty. It’s not very good and has a track featuring a wasted Jim Morrison chanting “Fuck her in the ass. A popular favorite.” Yikes!

The rarest LP I own is…

The Super Bowl Shuffle by the Chicago Bears.

The last LP I bought was…

The Blade Runner Soundtrack by Vangelis. Not sure how that ended up in my cart, but it rules.
