In this offering, we are very pleased to get up close and personal with the musician Necrosexual.

Necrosexual has released a video for the song “Dead Sexy,” taken from the cassette version of the EP Seeds of Seduction. It’s available from Folkvangr Records here. The video was edited by The Necrosexual, and features animation from Zak Irwin. Watch it below.

This video also coincides with the release of The Insatiable Necrosexual #1 comic, the Grim-1 and friends’ first venture onto the printed page (30 full color pages to be exact) as they navigate the mean streets to play a rock n roll concert before their 9:30 DJ night curfew. Drawn by Ben Fidler. Check out the comic book here.

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

Kreator Extreme Aggression, signed by the band’s lineup of that era. I got it on Ebay when I was 14 or 15 years old, before I owned a record player. I love the fusion of thrash metal with hardcore punk on this album. Kreator’s lyrics spoke to me as well. Songs like “Don’t Trust,” “Love Us Or Hate Us,” and “Some Pain Will Last” are about being authentic in a superficial world. Real shit!

The record that made me want to make music was…

Venom Welcome To Hell picture disc. This was gifted to me by a dear friend in high school. The iconic band photo on the B-side says it all. Sheer fucking attitude. I too strive to be an entertainer who is larger than life and death. Rambunctious rock n roll, with lots of bass solos!

The record I’ve played more than any other is…

Judas Priest Stained Class and Unleashed In The East endlessly inspire me to get on stage and rock out with all guns blazing! I got these records from the discount bin at the Main Street Jukebox in Stroudsburg, PA. That place has been my hometown record shop since the nineties. A lot of heavy metal memories first came to fruition at their counter.

The record that always make me feel good is…

Deep Purple When We Rock, We Rock, And When We Roll, We Roll. This greatest hits promotional compilation spans all their classics and includes some killer live renditions. Plus, it’s got a real groovy “Space Trucker” inspired album art. One of the most memorable times I spun this album was a New Year’s Rockin’ eve, late at night in my bedroom, with some fine company. Good feelings all around!

The record I turn to when I’m feeling down is…

Van Halen self titled. This is another masterpiece from end to end. Four distinctly talented and charismatic musicians aligns in the perfect storm of big guitar energy, with loads of bravado. There might never be such a masterful balance of pop music with arena rock.

The record with my favorite cover art is…

Mercyful Fate’s Melissa is totally captivating. King Diamond and company nail an artistic approach that is scary and sexy at the same time, just like their music.

A few other honorable mentions:

Motorhead Another Perfect Day. I really dig the cosmic Snaggletooth painted like the yin and yang symbols. This album is smooth and sweet, which I credit a big part of thanks to Thin Lizzy’s Brian Robertson on guitar.

Nasty Savage – self titled stands out as well, because it’s nothing but a big, bold logo against black. Quite minimal, yet effective. The music on this record is a goofy thrash metal crusade, with lots of high energy riffs and memorable falsettos.

The strangest LP I own is…

David Lee Roth Crazy From The Heat, because Diamond Dave is a strange one. I always see lots of copies of this in the used section of record stores in various formats, and I don’t know why. “Just A Gigolo” is worth the price alone.

The rarest LP I own is…

Metallica $5.98 EP on vinyl. I bought this for a bit more than it’s original price in the early 2000s when I was a super Metallica fan, but it’s a big piece of nerdy heavy metal history. Jason’s bass parts are much more prominent than on …And Justice For All.

The last LP I bought was…

King Diamond Conspiracy on red vinyl picture disc, from Vinyl Altar in Philadelphia. It’s my favorite of King Diamond’s corpse paint looks, and he’s had a lot of good ones over the years. Hail 2 the King, baby.

Necrosexual’s latest release, an EP titled Seeds of Seduction, was released on September 3, 2021. It’s available on limited edition cassette from Folkvangr Records here and as a digital download from Necrosexual’s Bandcamp here.
