In this inaugural edition, we are extremely pleased and honored to feature the collection of legendary musician/producer/composer and brother Thomas Andrew Doyle, the man best known as Tad.

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

Honestly, I don’t remember what the record was. Could have been any number of records, but… Judas Priest – Sad Wings of Destiny I remember thinking, “this is such a great image on the cover. I must have this record if for no other reason than the artwork.”

The record that made me want to make music was…

There are SO MANY! AC/DC – Let There Be Rock. I spent many thousands of hours analyzing Phil Rudd’s drumming. It felt so good to put on the isolating headphones and play along with this record. It truly felt like I was the drummer for AC/DC! Then I spent thousands more analyzing the rest of the band especially Malcolm’s tone and delivery. Honorable mention to Black Sabbath’s Black Sabbath, Killdozer – Little Baby Buntin’, Big Black and Head of David.

The record I’ve played more than any other is…

Frank Zappa – One Size Fits All / AC/DC – Let There Be Rock. I had every Frank Zappa/Mothers Of Invention record ever made by 1986. Then, I moved out of a house and lost them between moving out of the old place and into the new. I was devastated. This ended my “record collecting” days.

The record that always make me feel good is…

Sly & The Family Stone – Greatest Hits. Always a good time.

The record I turn to when I’m feeling down is…

YOB – The Great Cessation. YOB is a favorite and honestly any YOB record is a winner. Check out Middian’s Age Eternal as well. One record out on Metal Blade who didn’t support the band when some crap band who also had the name filed a cease and desist order.

The record with my favorite cover art is…

Celtic Frost – To Mega Therion. Self explanatory. H.R. Giger… Enough said.

The strangest LP I own is…

Scott Walker – The Drift (and) Bish Bosch. This one is a double header. Bish Bosch is in my possession but I don’t own it. A friend abandoned this record saying, “You can keep it. It’s unlistenable.”

The rarest LP I own is…

I have no idea. I have never been much of a record collector.

The last LP I bought was…

Cherubs – 2 Ynfynyty. Side note: I don’t buy that much stuff anymore. I have been blessed with people giving me their music. However, 2 Ynfynyty was a must have. I love these guys and their music.
